ProtoSpace

For ProtoSpace I created a short film for their website that explains what ProtoSpace does. ProtoSpace is a lovely client to work for since they are on the cutting edge of a new worldwide movement: Fab Lab. Together with the two labmanagers I wrote a text that reflected the core values of the organization. Based on this text I wrote a scenario. One of the labmanagers had a good voice to record for the voice-over. I filmed during one of their weekly open days so I had enough playing extras in the images. While editing the week after filming, the challenge was to stitch together consistent images even though I recorder everything with just a single camera. Especially the scene with the two men sitting at the table, turning an object in their hands, took a while to get right. Typically work you would only notice when it is NOT done properly ;). A week after filming, ProtoSpace had a movie to embed in their website.

Working as a network

Sometimes it is hard to explain how I and my colleagues Joitske, Sibrenne and Simon work together on the workshops. So to help explaining I created this short film about how we work together as a network. I wrote a text, recorded it and looked for or drew the images while editing. The fact that Apple's Keynote can export animations to a .mov file and my recently bought pen-tablet made it possible for me to create it this way.

Learning to use Social Media, learn how to Facilitate Online or represent yourself as a professional online.

Together with Joitske Hulsebosch, Simon Koolwijk en Sibrenne Wagenaar I organize workshops. Themes of these workshops: How to use Social Media, how to facilitate online and how to represent yourself as a professional online. There is nothing more rewarding than people coming to a workshop without any knowledge on social media, but by the end of the day leave the room full of ideas and ready to take action the following day. Research

In Full Flow: stories of a wired tribe

I know many of the people that I interact with on a daily basis from early-adopter conferences. Daily interactions take place through blogs, Twitter, Facebook and all kinds of other tools. I started noticing that these people are so often independent workers. With my research project In Full Flow I want to discover the red thread in the stories of the people in this 'tribe'. Through interviewing my online friends I want to find out what drives these people to have such an unusual attitude towards work and the balance between work and life.
